Group Shot |
On the morning of the 27th of July some branch members met in the car park of the Wetlands centre and circumnavigated the site under the guidance of Ed Carthy (Kerry Birding Group). The Wetlands site contains a number of different habitats such as reed beds, woodlands, open grassland and ponds, lakes and water ways. At each habitat Ed advised on the birds we were hearing and his keen eye was able to identify the various species we saw with just a split second glimpse.
This was the first event since the branch reformed and we were delighted with the turnout and interest shown from the members and general public alike. We would like to sincerely thank Ed Carthy for his time and willingness to share his knowledge and experience with the branch. We look forward to catching up with Ed again in the near future.
We've added more events to our calendar for the coming months and invite anyone not already subscribed to our newsletter to signup today in order to keep up to date with the branch.
Below is a collection of photos taken on the day by our own Fred O'Sullivan (thanks again for sharing). If you were there and managed to get some nice shots we'd love to see them. Please send to iwtkerryATgmail.com (please replace the AT with @ )
